Starbucks Sleeve Art Creating New Heights

Hello everyone! It was a busy weekend of food, laughs, drinks, and great people, and of course coffee! We can all celebrate the GIANTS WON!!! It was a good game, the commercials however sucked, but that’s okay…I guess. Sorry for the late post on this one, a lot of you have been taking this Starbucks Sleeve art project to new heights. I want to thank Megan again for her awesome submissions like always, my father, Matthew Greger, who has been doing some serious art work to his Starbucks Sleeves. My awesome cousin Elizabeth, I had a great drawing submitted by Paula “Through the maze past the tree and beyond the stars,” and of course Audrey! I just wanted to take a moment and really thank all of you who have submitted. I think this art project that we are all working on is going to become much bigger than I think any of us really expect. I look forward to continuing this awesome project with you guys in the hopes that it really does amount to something bigger. So again, thank you, thank you, thank you! Remember if you’d like to be apart of this project please send your submissions in an email to ben@benjamingreger.com I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. I’ll post them here and through my Instagram! Here’s last week’s submissions:

Barnies Coffee Kitchen

Hello coffee lovers,

Recently I have been going to this awesome coffee shop, Barnies Coffee Kitchen. They recently just underwent a whole new branding campaign/restructuring of their Park Ave, Winter Park FL location (not sure about all Barnies). Let me begin this review with saying how inviting the experience really is at Barnies. When you walk in, you’re immediately hit with their own brewed Barnies coffee, people are usually sitting at the wood tabels enjoying conversations with whomever they are with while enjoying a beautifully crafted latte/cappuccino. You know me and how much I love a great latte. So naturally it was the first thing I tried! Before I go into how great the latte was I did in fact have a cup of coffee first. I have been on my Starbucks Veranda blend for a bit now, so I was in the coffee spirit. I’ve actually been to Barnies a few times now, I just haven’t gotten the chance to write this review yet.

Barnies Coffee Kitchen

Anyways you know how you go to Starbucks, or really pretty much any other “large” chain coffee destination, the machines are actually just tall enough where you can’t really see what’s going on. Not to mention as you try to lean in and watch your drink being made there’s usually only this small little “nook” in where you can actually…try and squeeze yourself in to view your drink being made. Well you see at Barnies Coffee Kitchen you’ll see it all, from the grinding of the espresso beans-to them slightly moving the wrist back and forth as they make a classic latte art design. To me this is the ultimate experience. This just gave the Starbucks experience a run for its money…and you all know how much I LOVE Starbucks.

I got a classic latte, and I was not too sure what to really expect once I got it. Don’t worry when you go you’ll quickly get the hang of the lingo/experience, because there’s really not much to it. In fact the menu is easy to read, there’s no fancy “grande” for a medium or “Tall” for a small. The drinks and food are reasonably priced (about $3.50 for a 16oz. latte). They get the water just hot enough for them to pour over their coffee as it drips down into a carafe where they then pour your coffee into one of their mugs. Trust me you wont be disappointed with Barnies. In all I give this place a 5 out of 5 stars, truly an enjoyable, actually, well beyond enjoyable experience. I will say this as a disclaimer the wi-fi sucks, but honestly I think that’s what made my experience that much more enjoyable, I got to see everything around me. Enjoy, and let them know the Coffee Drinkers Blog recommended it.

Peace & Love,

Starbucks Sleeve Art Update

Hello everyone, I hope your weekend has been filled with great people, and lots of coffee! It’s a beautiful day….actually it’s been a beautiful week here in Orlando. Not going to lie this place is sort of kinda growing on me, yes absolutely the people aren’t the greatest of drivers, but come on this place has some hidden spots all over. Not to mention next month I get to work with a wonderful nonprofit organization here in Central Florida, United Arts. I’m pretty excited for all the ArtsFest events, and of course I’ll keep you readers up-to-date with all of that fun stuff!

Anyways let’s dive right on in. Earlier this week I received an email from an awesome reader who was interested in more of this small project. She’s been collecting coffee sleeves for a little over 5 years!!!! 5 YEARS!! That blew my mind. I just started this small little project and I am already getting a lot of great art! This week I got two submissions from Megan Jakobson. Here are her two photos, remember if you want to be a part of this project just send me your pictures to ben@benjamingreger.com or @ reply me on twitter @benjamingreger and I’ll post them on my Instagram, and here as well of course!

Starbucks Sleeve Art Review

Hello fellow coffee lovers, and Starbucks fanatics! Welcome back to another great, or I should say a beginning week to the Starbucks Sleeve Art project! I got one submission this week from Robert who drew some great art on his Starbucks sleeve, and outside of Audrey I had another fellow classmate of mine draw something for me as well. This has been a great beginning process to this little project, and honestly I have no idea where it will go, but it sure is a lot of fun to see what people are going to draw. So without further review here is the awesome art. Just a side note quickly if you’ve got some sleeve art drawn just send it my way to ben@benjamingreger.com and I’ll make sure to post it when I receive it. Obviously you’ll get the credit and all that, remember it doesn’t have to be elaborate or anything, just have fun with it!

AgroEco, Nicaragua Dark Roast

AgroEco Nicaragua Dark Roast

Hello my fellow coffee lovers! This post is way long overdue, but I have finally gotten a small little break in my busy schedule to fully sit down and enjoy this wonderful cup of coffee. Now I don’t do all that crazy sniffing, wafting, slurping stuff, but I rather just sit down brew it and drink it. Most dark roast coffees I have had always seem to be bitter. But I think a lot of that has to do with the simple fact that I usually get Starbuck’s dark roast’s (Christmas Blend, etc.) and they usually leave their coffee too long in the pots giving it this burnt bitter taste. Anyways AgroEco Coffee is an awesome dark roast. It’s rich, and fulfilling. Not to mention in every sip you take you’re drinking coffee that had a lot of love, and care go into it.

To me that’s refreshing to know that my coffee is coming from a farm with farmers who live, breathe, and love the job they are doing. It’s always rewarding to know that you get up each day and you enjoy the work you do. So why not have coffee that has that same attitude you do about going to work?  The name of the organization that sent me this coffee is called Community Agroecology Network or CAN for short. Their mission is laid out simply, “sustain rural livelihoods and environments by integrating research, education, and trade innovations.” The time spent in building the relationships with farmers truly goes hand in hand with how great this cup of coffee is.

I hope you take the time out of your day to donate to a great cause, or buy a bag of coffee, either way you’re doing an awesome service. For me, I LOVED IT, and I’ll be enjoying the rest of this Dark Roast, and continuing to support a great company, and a great cause!

Starbucks Veranda Blend

Veranda Roast

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend was filled with your familiar roast of coffee in the morning, afternoon, and evening! I have been ranting and raving for the last couple of days about Starbucks’s newest roast, Veranda. Now this is a blend that is in their newest line of “Blonde” roasts. Now back to my review, I mean come on it even sounds sexy, say it slow V~E~R~A~N~D~A….I was a bit unsure of trying this blend at first, because we all know and love Starbucks for the darker roasts. I have just come off my Christmas Blend coffee, and espresso rave and have been looking for something a bit on the softer side of things lately. This for me does it! It’s got a great taste, and it really goes well with some of the added syrups. I have been getting mine with a few pumps of vanilla and it’s just sweet enough where I don’t need to add a butt load of sugar.

Let’s be real I am not the greatest when it comes to bitter and dark roast coffees, however the holidays blends that Starbucks puts out every year were surly doing justice for me. You all know me for the lattes, but this coffee French Pressed at home is awesome! Speaking of French Press make sure to take a good laugh at the video below, that’s me (obviously) brewing the Veranda blend in my French Press for the very first time!

Anyways don’t waste your time at Dunkin Doughnuts getting your coffee light and sweet, head on over to at least try the Veranda blend. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, The Coffee Man Ben said so!

Peace & Love,

Benjamin

Starbucks Sleeve Project

Hello again! Here is something exciting that I have slowly started working on that I think you’ll all enjoy. You see I was sitting in class, funny thing is the class is titled PCP for short, however we’re not on drugs so don’t worry! Anyways, and I had brought in a cup of Starbucks, and you all know they give you a sleeve to project your fingers/hands from the “extremely hot beverage” that you’re about to enjoy. Well while I was sitting there I had taken the sleeve off, the coffee had cooled down by this point, and my dear good friend Audrey took the sleeve. She then drew on it!

This got me thinking, what if I got people to just start randomly drawing on their Starbuck sleeve’s and mailing them in to me so I can photograph it and then do something even cooler with all of them after! I mean that’s the long term idea with it, but I have already collected three, all of which have been from Audrey since I just haven’t had the time to sit an enjoy a cup of Starbucks at a Starbucks. Here are the three photos I have taken so far, and you can follow the journey through my Instagram where I’ll be posting them to the public to view. You can email me your photographed sleeves to ben@benjamingreger.com and I’ll get them posted on here, and my Instagram! Don’t worry I’ll give you guys credit.

Stay tuned, and enjoy the photos!

OMG HE’S BACK…THE COFFEE MAN!!

Before and After, Trip Home for the Holidays!

Hello, HELLO!!!! And welcome back to the exciting CoffeeDrinkersBlog.Com so glad you have decided to all join me in my continues effort of blogging the world of coffee, and tattoos (sometimes). My deepest apologize to my readers for being so far off the map, I know it’s been awhile since I have posted anything, let alone a review of a coffee house. Well guess what…no I will not be reviewing coffeehouses, and or coffees every single day. I just can’t commit to that! It’s almost impossible for me, simply because of my ever changing, crazy, hectic, schedule! But with that being said I want to make a vow to you. I vow, The Coffee Man Ben to make sure to at least keep you up to date with my ventures in coffee. I have some really cool reviews coming up within the next few weeks. One of which is this awesome Organic Coffee that I’ll be sharing in detail what I enjoyed about it.

Over the holidays I recently received two very important gifts from my awesome family. One! A coffee bean grinder…SAY WHAT!! That’s right, I can finally grind my own coffee and have it be fresh right then and there. Two! A MOTHEREFFIN French Press! Probably the greatest gift to my coffee obsession. I have been brewing an awesome flavor from Starbucks, but I’ll save that news for a review in the near future. I hope you all continue to support the love, and community of coffee. I have recently been doing a side art project that hopefully can become a bit viral in the near future as well. I’ll be posting those pictures right after this post!

So welcome BACK! I hope you all stay for awhile and subscribe!

B3 Cafe Hot Chocolate

Welcoming me back to the coffee world wasn’t coffee. In fact it was a beautiful creation from one my favorite little cafe’s here in Orlando. It was a regular hot chocolate. Now I know hot coco isn’t related at all to coffee, but let me just say this. When I asked how the hot chocolate was made (ya know not from powder or something); she told me they ground real chocolate and brew it. HOLY &%*^$ I was so excited you have no idea. The weather down here in Orlando has been somewhat cloudy with a nice breeze and only getting up to the 70’s. This is where living in Florida becomes worth it, not on a hot humid day, but days like I had today was well worth being outside enjoying a nice warm drink.

B3 Cafe Hot Coco

As I discussed some great new ventures with a great friend of mine, I couldn’t help but sit back and take in this wonderful creation! At first it was too pretty to drink, but it was brewed at the right drinking temperature with a milky foam on top. BUT WAIT! On top of that milky foam goodness was this quick and fun criss crossed pattern of chocolate syrup! That’s right more chocolate upon chocolate! I throughly enjoyed my drink, and of course many of you already know I recommend B3 to anyone here in the Orlando area. Their selection of food and drinks are awesome! Just go and let them know the CoffeeDrinkersBlog sent ya!

Peace & Love,

Benjamin

P.S. It feels good to be back! Sorry I was away for so long!
